About the GroupThe Wokingham and Bracknell RSPB Local Group is one of around 170 local members groups in the UK, which exist to bring members together to share their common interest, and enable them to help the RSPB. All of our meetings are open to anyone, whether members of the RSPB or the local group or not. The group has a current membership of just over 200 and is based at the Finchampstead Memorial Hall, Finchampstead Village, Berkshire (OS Ref. 792632). Whatever your interest in birds, we hope there will be something for you in our range of activities:Indoor meetings, on the second Thursday evening of every month from September to June, with a slide talk by a birdwatcher or wildlife photographer . Field Trips, every month from September to June, to local places such as Theale Gravel Pits, or sites further afield such as Pagham Harbour. Midweek Bird Walks, run on an informal basis, at local sites on the first Wednesday of every month. Birdwalks run by the group at Dinton Pastures Country Park, on the first Saturday of every month, starting at 9.00 and usually finishing by 12.30. Local Events, such as fairs and fetes which the group attends with a stall and sales table, to publicise and raise funds for the RSPB.
